First Nations Projection Mapping Workshop

Lighting Up Culture is a three-day hands-on workshop that introduces First Nations artists to the exciting world of projection mapping, where digital content is transformed into immersive visual experiences across buildings, landscapes and public spaces.

Participants will explore the fundamentals of projection mapping, digital content creation, animation and live visual presentation while developing practical skills using industry-standard creative technologies. Working alongside experienced facilitators, artists will learn how digital storytelling can be used to share culture, celebrate community and create engaging public art experiences.

Artists are encouraged to bring their own artwork, photography, designs and creative concepts into the workshop. Throughout the program, participants will collaborate to develop and present a large-scale projection installation that showcases local stories, culture and connection to place.

Lighting Up Culture provides a unique opportunity to build creative and technical skills, explore contemporary forms of cultural expression and connect with other First Nations artists in a supportive learning environment.
