DAAF 2026

20th Anniversary Year | 6–9 August 2026

The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) is one of the most significant national platforms for First Nations art and culture. Held on Larrakia Country, DAAF connects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists with collectors, curators, galleries and institutions from across Australia and internationally.

Participation Pathways

We’re excited to return to the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair in 2026.

Following a successful pilot in 2025, ARAA is refining its approach delivering a more focused, curated and financially sustainable model that strengthens outcomes for artists from Regional and Remote NSW.

Our participation in 2026, during DAAF’s 20th Anniversary year, builds on the relationships and market presence established in 2025, while showcasing the depth, diversity and strength of NSW Aboriginal artistic practice.

Based on our experience, ARAA will deliver a scaled model, supporting up to four attending artists, alongside broader opportunities for artists to participate through representation in the physical stall or via the DAAF online platform. This approach ensures a high-quality, curated presentation while maintaining financial responsibility and accessibility.

Selling artists can engage in three ways: attending in person as part of the ARAA delegation, having work represented and sold at the physical stall, or participating in an online-only capacity through the DAAF sales platform. Each pathway is designed to support different levels of readiness, capacity and availability, while maintaining consistent standards of presentation and professionalism.

We are committed to creating ethical sales pathways, strengthening long-term market opportunities, and positioning artists for ongoing success beyond the fair.

Priority will be given to works that align with buyer demand and transport efficiencies, including paper-based works, ceramics, jewellery, and fibre-based practices, supported by a strong curatorial framework.

ARAA’s return to DAAF reflects a clear and considered evolution one that is informed by experience, grounded in sustainability, and focused on impact.

Our purpose remains strong: to elevate artists from Regional and Remote NSW on a national stage, strengthen connections with buyers, and build a sustainable, artist-led presence in the market.
